Plitvice Lakes National Park

This is one location that you do not want to miss when visiting Croatia. The UNESCO heritage site stretches over 296 square kilometers and is complete with 16 lakes that will draw you in with the tranquil sounds of its waterfalls and glorious turquoise waters. Krka National Park

The river that runs through the park is around 73km long and runs through a karstic canyon that is about 200m deep. This remote area was greatly revered by monks which is why there are monasteries built there. This is the second most visited national park in Croatia, and for good reason. The magical views of the Skradinski Buk and Roški slap will ensure that your experience is simply unforgettable. Kornati National Park

When you visit a country with more than 1000 islands gracing the coast, there is nothing better to do than sail around the coastline, if only for a day. Certainly a special group of islands that you can discover in the central Adriatic are the Kornati islands. Made up of 140 islands and islets you can explore their beauty in just one day.

These picturesque islands have day excursions from cities such as Zadar, Šibenik and Split and are covered in grottoes, caves and rugged cliffs. Their sight really is something else and needs to be experienced in person. Once again make sure to take any swimming gear as you will definitely want to take a dip in these bays.

Paklenica National Park

If being one with nature is something you relish then you most definitely do not want to miss out on the wonders of Paklenica National Park. The only thing left to decide is what you want to do there. Whether hiking, rafting, rock climbing, mountaineering or cave exploring is your thing, there are activities on offer that will bring out the adventurer in anyone. Exploring hidden waterfalls can be as basic or as challenging as you see fit as the hiking trails range from beginners to advanced trails.
